New Partnership with St Joseph’s Hospital, Cardiff -
PROMs in Wales
March 2023
MCO are thrilled to announce their new partnership with St Joseph’s Hospital (SJH), Cardiff.
SJH is one of the first independent hospitals in Wales to adopt digital PROMs (Patient Reported Outcome Measures) to bring transparency to the sector for the benefit of patients and, to do so whilst bringing value-based private healthcare to the forefront of the conversation.
SJH’s aim goes indeed, beyond meeting the industry's regulatory requirements and SJH will use their patients’ feedback data to:
understand the benefits and outcomes of surgery,
monitor the hospital’s performance,
enhance the patient journey,
ultimately improving safety and quality of care.
SJH will be introducing PROMS to their patients over the coming weeks and both parties are really excited about roll-out: the first data to be collected will be for cataract patients and quickly following, other 11 clinical pathways, covering both common and cosmetic surgical procedures.
Stuart Hammond, CEO at St Joseph’s Hospital, commented on the partnership: “We are thrilled to be working with MCO to introduce PROMs to measure our patient outcomes and see the value added to our patients' lives. As a hospital, we look forward to learning more about the patient journey and how their treatment benefits them, whilst also monitoring any areas for improvement. We hope to use the data collected to improve our patient journey and the care we provide.”
