Examples of the use of My Clinical Outcomes in various Journal Articles in the last few years.
One year after the introduction of collection and analysis of PROMs from patients with treatable but not curable cancers University Hospitals Sussex using MCO, the published results demonstrate the positive impacts for patients and hospitals and clinics. In addition to the key findings, results show a return on investment with a benefit cost ratio of 1.4 – that is, for every £1 invested in the service, £1.40 was saved per patient.

The introduction of routine use of Patient-Reported Outcomes Measures in a mixed oncology population
University Hospitals Sussex implemented the routine use of electronic remote patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) in a mixed oncology population, focusing on those with treatable but not curable cancers. This report reviews the use of MCO by 324 patients over a 9 month period, concluding on the value and effectiveness of remote PROMs collection.

There are multiple examples of successful ePRO programmes but no specific feasibility studies in those who are less digitally engaged. Prostate cancer is predominantly a disease of older men and digital exclusion is associated with increased age. This article highlights how ePRO measures can improve patient care and streamline services, the measures are feasible in clinic but more challenging from home, and the strategies to support remote completion.
Royal College of Radiologists Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2021
Our partners at The Royal College of Radiologists discuss how they have been using the platform to collect and analyse PROMs data from patients undergoing radical pelvic radiotherapy, without physician bias. This article follows the experience of Project Trigger to-date, and outlines the potential for the national roll-out of a similar project using the same low-resource model.
Royal College of Radiologists Journal of Clinical Oncology, 2019
A virtual clinic follow-up pathway was introduced for hip and knee replacement patients, with web-based PROMs used alongside digital radiographs to facilitate clinical review. In this evaluation a questionnaire was distributed to all patients treated under the virtual clinic service over a 5-month period, showing the encouraging acceptance of a ‘click and go’ approach and aligning with the intention of virtual clinics - to provide cost effective follow-up and face-to-face capacity for patients who need it.

Case Reports
Examples of the use of My Clinical Outcomes in various BMJ Case Reports in the last few years.
This case illustrates how web-based PROMs can be used to support conservative management of knee osteoarthritis by both empowering patients and minimising the burden on secondary care outpatient services.

Tracking a painful episode after a joint replacement using patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs)
Web-based PROMs were used to monitor the improvement in pain and function symptoms. These outcome measures were beneficial in monitoring an episode of new pain, without requiring invasive or extensive investigation.

Patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs): enhancing decision making and follow-up
Web-based PROMs prospectively collected electronically pre- and post-operatively allowed real-time review, aiding follow-up and reducing the need for clinical, face-to-face follow-up.

When to operate: online patient-reported outcome measures (PROMs) can help decide
This case highlights how web-based PROMs can directly influence patient care in real time. After being placed on a waiting list for knee arthroplasty, the use of pre-operative PROMs allowed the patient and surgical team to review ongoing disability and as a result alter the management plan by deferring surgery.
