Cancer Innovation Challenge Project Showcased at Data Lab Scotland Event
JANUARY 2020
Our collaboration with NHS Ayrshire and Arran was celebrated at ‘The Data Lab: Supporting Transformative Projects’ reception in the Scottish Parliament building. As well as speeches from Clare Adamson MSP and Kate Forbes MSP, the keynote talk of the evening was by Dr Peter MacLean, oncologist and Director of Cancer Services at NHS Ayrshire & Arran, who discussed our work over the past few years, the real difference MCO has made to the efficiency of his clinics and the impact it has had on his patients.
This partnership was our first Cancer Innovation Challenge project and is now in its third year of improving outcomes for patients. Led by The Data Lab and funded through the Scottish Funding Council, the Challenge aims to transform the lives of cancer patients through the innovative use of data, helping Scotland become a world leading carer for people with cancer.
“My Clinical Outcomes started working with NHS Ayrshire and Arran and are now working across 5 health boards…so who says we can’t scale innovation in Scotland?!”
Gillian Docherty OBE, CEO of The Data Lab, January 2020
