The benefits of our collaboration with NHS Ayrshire and Arran were recently celebrated at ‘The Data Lab: Supporting Transformative Projects’ parliamentary reception. Keynote speakers included Dr Peter MacLean (Clinical Director for Cancer), who presented around our partnership, the real difference it has made to his clinic and the support it has provided for cancer patients.

This partnership was our first Cancer Innovation Challenge project and is now in its third year of helping to improve outcomes for patients. Led by The Data Lab and funded through the Scottish Funding Council, the Challenge aims to transform the lives of cancer patients through the innovative use of data, helping Scotland become a world leading carer for people with cancer.

The event showcased The Data Lab’s work in Scotland and provided an opportunity to hear about transformative projects and the real impact that data can have to solve global complex issues. Other speakers included Minister for Public Finance & Digital Economy, Claire Forbes MSP, and Gillian Docherty, CEO of The Data Lab.
